Cathy is a lifelong swimmer. She grew up learning to swim through YMCA and Red Cross programs. She later taught swim lessons at her local YMCA and taught Red Cross programs while employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a private residential summer camp. Cathy learned of TI while her daughter was a competitive swimmer and took a Weekend Workshop with her in 1999. She has been a TI swimmer ever since and a TI Senior Coach since 2003. She is also a Freestyle Weekend Workshop Director. She swam her first open water race in 2008 and is looking forward to doing many more. Cathy works with swimmers of all levels and abilities: competitive; master's; triathlete; fitness; beginner's; and, those who are uncomfortable or afraid of the water. Students have ranged in age from three to ninety three years. Cathy is a full time coach and teaches private, semi-private and small group lessons. She is a retired attorney and a graphic designer and artist in her spare time. For more information on lessons, please see her website www.swimcoach.biz. Recently, Terry Laughlin asked me the following questions in regard to teaching  children, adults and age group swimmers.  My responses are below.
