Helenita has enjoyed water and water sports all of her life. She swam competitively in high school and now enjoys swimming for fitness as well as for triathlons. She owns SwimFreedom LLC and currently focuses all of her energies to teaching Total Immersion to swimmers and non-swimmers alike. Helenita was introduced to Total Immersion swimming when she was training for an Ironman swim. She found that it worked so well that she wanted to share her love of the technique and thus became a Total Immersion Teaching Professional. In addition to working with all kinds of swimmers on a private basis, Helenita is a Weekend Workshop coach. She has also coached triathletes participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program. She was the Head Cycling coach for the Seattle chapter of Team In Training for several years. Helenita holds several certifications in addition to being a Total Immersion Teaching Professional – these include: USA Triathlon Level 1 coach, Team In Training Cycle Coach, Heart Zones Basic certification, Lifeguard (American Red Cross), CPR for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross). She has competed in numerous triathlons from Sprint to Ironman distance. Helenita offers private lessons, refresher classes and weekend workshops in Washington, Idaho and Montana.
