but I struggle to swim more than 50 metres, can TI help me swim like a god?
In one weekend? Thanks
Hi Nick,
Great to hear from you.
The lower your skill level at the start of the WS the more potential you have for improvement.
This is one of the reasons we really enjoy working with ’50m swimmers’. If you are in this
category you can increase your fitness and build your ‘endurance’ but without the skills you
will always be ‘enduring’ some kind of struggle. Even if you extend your ‘limit’ to 100m or even
1km or further you will still reach a point where you can’t carry on…
So that is where TI can help. Above a certain skill threshold you can literally ‘swim all day’
(or until you get bored or waterlogged etc) regardless of your fitness. We work on the
assumption that a part of you actually knows how to swim like a God already but gets
blocked by various things that I won’t go into here…
At a workshop swimmers learn how to reconnect to this innate swimming ability.
They begin to see, hear and feel what great swimming is like. We use the drills
to separate things and work on one skill at a time. Each of our sessions has a
theme which develops through the workshop.
1. Streamlining
2. Whole body power & rhythm
3. Flow
4. Breathing
This means swimmers can experience ‘perfect balance’ early on in the piece and
use that as a platform to build upon. The other skills follow on.
So the short answer to your question is that you will experience ‘aha moments’
throughout the workshop. Your swimming will take a big step forwards and you
will leave with the tools you need to develop a highly skilled swimming habit.
Swimming like a God? I’d say that comes pretty close…
Thanks for the question and hope to hear from you soon.
