As an adult I was introduced to triathlon as a way to keep fit which turned into an obsession with all
things swimming, cycling and running. More than 10 years later I’ve raced at all distances including
several Ironman races, a round Jersey relay swim, the Dart 10km and cycling Lands End to John
O’Groats.
The desire to be faster led me to TI swimming lessons and introduced me to the idea that I could be
faster by focused practice and working on my technique. My swimming is a continuous
improvement project and I’m still working on my stroke and having fun more than 10 years after my
first TI lesson.
I’ve been a triathlon coach for more than 5 years and am now a full time coach working in Coventry
and across the West Midlands. I coach people who are complete beginners learning to swim for the
first time through to experienced Ironman athletes who want to improve their performance. I work
with people who want to enjoy swimming for fun and general health as well as dedicated athletes
who want to improve performance.
I run a range of group courses over a period of 6 weeks in a local swimming pool, 1 day and half day
workshops, open water coaching as well as one-to-one lessons in a swim studio in Warwickshire.
I believe that anyone can learn to swim and improving technique with a patient teacher makes
swimming more enjoyable. My philosophy here at YouCanCoaching is that sport should be open to
all regardless of shape, size and ability. And that with the right help and support “YouCan!” achieve
your goals.
